New engine installation & repowering

Supply, install, align, commission and sea-trial — a repower handled as one job by one engineer, with the paperwork and the guarantee to match.

Repowering

A new engine is only as good as the installation

Most repower problems are not engine problems. They are alignment, mounts, fuel supply, raw-water routing, exhaust geometry, wiring, controls and instrumentation — the things around the engine. Getting those right is engineering work, and it is where a forty-year mechanical and electrical background earns its keep.

We handle the whole job: assessing what the hull can take, specifying the right unit, removing the old engine, preparing beds and mounts, installing, connecting fuel, cooling, exhaust and electrics, aligning the shaft, commissioning and sea-trialling — then handing over a vessel that runs the way it should.

Questions

Repower FAQs

Should I repair or repower?

It depends on the hours, the condition of the block, parts availability for that model in the region, and how long you intend to keep the boat. We will give you the honest arithmetic, including what a rebuild is likely to cost against a new unit.

Can you supply the engine as well as fit it?

Yes — supply, installation, commissioning and sea trial as one package, so responsibility for the whole job sits in one place.

How long is a repower out of service?

It depends on the vessel, the engine and lead times on the unit. We will give you a realistic programme before you commit, and we plan the work so the boat is out of use for as short a period as possible.

Thinking about a repower?

Send us the vessel, the current engine and the hours. We will tell you honestly whether to rebuild, replace, or leave it alone another season.
